People ask me why I chose a career in the ice cream business. I could say that the ice cream business chose me, or I could humbly reply that I’ve been blessed. My uncle started Meadowvale about 40 years ago in a rented warehouse in Joliet, Illinois. Even though he was mortgaged to the hilt with three small children to feed, he knew there was a better way to create the outstanding quality and lasting value that Meadowvale is now famous for. His legendary work created the foundation for the customer oriented company we are today.
At Meadowvale, we’re in the ice cream business because we love it. It’s what we do best. Like you, we’ve worked both sides of the counter, meeting payroll and managing the ups and downs of a wild and wonderful industry we call ice cream. It’s an industry populated by both dreamers and doers. Put those two together and you create magic! After 40 years in the business I’m left to wonder: Why would anyone serve anything less?
